“What started out as a simple home-improvement project, turned into much more than we could handle. We immediately contacted Ziccardi Builders and they transformed our awkward and dingy basement into a spacious, comfortable, and useful den. Ziccardi workers are very creative, conscientious, and extremely concerned with pleasing the home owner. We enjoyed seeing the progress and detail added each and every day we came home from work! We never dreamed that our basement could become what Ziccardi Builders created for us!”
Subsequently, my wife and I filed a lawsuit against JC Ziccardi Builders due to the significant expense we will need to incur to remedy the existing undisclosed structural and foundation issues that have been identified with our “like new” home. In late April 2016, as part of the lawsuit, we filed a request for information from JC Ziccardi Builders. The date for JC Ziccardi Builders to provide the requested information lapsed. Subsequently, we have had to make more requests, which will hopefully lead JC Ziccardi Builders to finally respond, 9 months later. Additionally, multiple requests were made to schedule a deposition of Joe Ziccardi. All the initially suggested dates were not suitable to Joe Ziccardi. A final request was made and several months’ worth of dates to hold the deposition were provided to Joe Ziccardi. He selected 11/28/16, the absolute last date on a long list of dates provided for him to select from. As the date approached, our attorney contacted the attorney of Joe Ziccardi, to ensure that all was in order for the upcoming deposition. We were then informed that Joe Ziccardi would not be attending the deposition on the date he selected to hold the deposition.

My wife and I purchased a home from JC Ziccardi Builders in early May 2015. The home was advertised and portrayed by Joe Ziccardi (owner) as being fully remodeled and “like new.” JC Ziccardi Builders included a 1-year home warranty as part of the sale. Within a few hours of taking ownership of the property we realized that none of the newly installed doors on the second floor would close, garbage (including a sweaty old t-shirt) was left in the kitchen cabinets, a vent cover that was to be installed on the crawlspace had not been installed, the refrigerator consistently leaked on the floor, there was a hole in the wall from where JC Ziccardi Builders lowered the microwave and didn’t patch the previous location, the entryway grout and floor strip were not repaired as agreed upon in the sales agreement, and the screen door was missing. We contacted Joe Ziccardi and he sent a staff member to fix the doors that would not close immediately. The vent cover, wall repair, and screen door were completed in June 2015, after additional requests had to be sent to the JC Ziccardi Builders. No resolution was offered for the refrigerator. We are still waiting on the grout and floor strip repair, 20 months later.
Within the first month, due to all the issues we had experienced with our “like new” home, our father/father-in-law came to inspect the work that was done during the home’s renovation. He previously owned a construction business. This lead to the discovery of significant undisclosed foundation and structural issues. We detailed and provided photographs to Ziccardi of all the issues that were identified structurally and additional issues like: the new front door not being attached and falling out of place, the newly installed siding being detached in 2 locations (now 3 locations), the original repair to the entryway never being completed, hot electrical wires laying on the ground in the damp crawlspace, cracking and chipping grout in the 2nd floor bathrooms, and ventilation ducts that were detached or never properly secured. He has refused to speak with us or look at the issues we identified.
Thank You,
3 weeks into ownership the area experienced a heavy rainfall. The master bathroom and bedroom ceiling began to leak water. JC Ziccardi Builders used bathroom caulk to seal a vent in the metal roof and the extreme conditions on a roof caused it to dry rot quickly.
After one week of ownership we emailed the owner concerned with some gurgling sounds that the plumbing had been making. The owner never responded to that email. After 2 more days raw sewage began to back up into the home.
We are very dissatisfied customers.
